Emphasizing the significance of local textiles, Philippine Tropical Fabrics Month celebrates not only the artistry of traditional fabrics but also their role in fostering economic development and preserving our cultural heritage.

In line with the celebration, the #NationalLibraryPH is featuring this book entitled โ€œ๐˜ฝ๐™–๐™ง๐™ค: ๐™‹๐™๐™ž๐™ก๐™ž๐™ฅ๐™ฅ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™š ๐™๐™–๐™—๐™ง๐™ž๐™˜ ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™๐™–๐™จ๐™๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ.” This book highlights traditional Philippine attire and fabrics, particularly pina and jusi, presented by distinguished women in politics. It features essays exploring different facets of local textiles, such as embroidery, weaving methods, and dyeing techniques. Notable contributors include Maria Abulencia, Norma Respicio, Ino Manalo, and Tata Mapa.
