From May 26–29, 2025, the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) conducted a series of visits to affiliated public libraries in Batangas to strengthen local library services and foster active collaboration with Local Government Units (LGUs). Representing NLP were Mr. Michael James R. Reyno, Librarian II, and Mr. Bryan Christian J. Raceles, Librarian II, both from the Public Libraries Division (PLD).
The visit focused on enhancing the role of public libraries as inclusive learning hubs, addressing challenges in library operations, and promoting sustainable programs that respond to the needs of the Batangueño communities. In addition, it also served to remind and encourage inactive libraries to re-affiliate, since the existence of an active public library is among the indicators to be assessed under the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), allowing them to prepare ahead of time.
