Return of Another PIR document

On April 4, 2025, an important document belonging to the Philippine Insurgent Records (PIR) was returned to the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) through Hon. Lisa Guerrero Nakpil, Commissioner of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP).

The document, titled Election Appointment of Policarpio Buenavides as ‘Kapitan Volante’ (Flying Captain) of Malasiqui, Pangasinan, dated January 10, 1896, and measuring 11 cm x 16 cm, is now reunited with the rest of the PIR collection held by the agency. This reaffirmed the call made by Director Cesar Gilbert Q. Adriano, Director IV, in November 2024, encouraging those who may possess copies of PIR documents to return them to the NLP.
