NLP Advances Strategic Planning Through SPMS Workshop

The Performance Management Team (PMT) of the #NationalLibraryPH, chaired by Dolores D. Carungui, with members Jennifer B. Dimasaca, PMEC Chairperson; Michelle A. Flor, FAD-OIC and HR Head; and Cherry V. Melquiades, TNLEA President, successfully conducted a three-day workshop on the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) from January 15 to 17, 2025. The event was facilitated by the esteemed guest speaker, CSC Director II Mira Michelle A. Brazil, from the Civil Service Commission.

The workshop aimed to align the NLP’s resources, strategies, initiatives, and employees with organizational priorities to ensure the delivery of outputs and services. Participants, including PMT members, division chiefs, assistant chiefs, and section heads, were guided by Director Brazil in revising and developing organizational, divisional, and individual performance evaluation tools to strengthen alignment with the institution’s mandate and the overarching goals of the national government.

On the second day, NLP Director and SPMS Champion Cesar Gilbert Q. Adriano attended the workshop to observe its progress and provide insightful suggestions for each division’s performance strategies.

Director Brazil emphasized the critical importance of SPMS in ensuring that employee performance is effectively measured and monitored. She highlighted that aligning performance targets with institutional mandates not only enhances accountability but also ensures the delivery of high-quality services to stakeholders.

This workshop marks a significant step in strengthening the NLP’s commitment to performance excellence and continuous improvement in public service delivery.
