Second Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill 2024

The National Library of the Philippines (NLP) actively participated in the Second Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2024 this afternoon at 2:00 PM. Under the guidance of the NLP Continuity Coordinating Team (CCT) and Incident/Emergency Response Team (IERT), all employees, researchers, and clients joined together to ensure our preparedness and safety. This nationwide activity is being facilitated by the Office of Civil Defense PH (OCD).

Under the Presidential Decree 812 or the Decree on Legal and Cultural Deposit, publishers must submit 2 copies of their publications free of charge. By complying with the Legal Deposit regulations, the NLP will be able to collect and preserve the cultural heritage of the Philippines. Preserving our cultural heritage of books and other library materials involves safeguarding the works that contain our community’s history, traditions, and cultural identity.
