Orientation and Initial Library Allocation

February 28, 2025
The National Library of the Philippines (NLP), through its Public Libraries Division, welcomed both onsite and online participants, including librarians, library staff, and officers-in-charge from newly and existing affiliated public libraries, during the Orientation and Initial Library Allocation held at the NLP Building, Ermita, Manila.
This initiative is part of the Agency’s commitment to enhancing and empowering the capabilities of newly affiliated public libraries, newly designated officers-in-charge or library heads, and other interested library staff. This three-day training serves as an onboarding program and a strategic approach providing:
● Initial resource allocation
● Orientation on the basic management of library resources
● Guidance on library administration to ensure the delivery of quality services to their respective communities
The program also featured expert NLP Librarians as Resource Speakers, who provided valuable insights into strengthening the country’s public library system. Participants—both onsite and online—also engaged in hands-on workshops, ensuring they gained practical experience in managing and organizing their libraries effectively.
Together, we are shaping the future of library and information services — making them more dynamic, innovative, and impactful to meet the diverse needs of our communities and inspire lifelong learning!
