October is Museums and Galleries Month

The National Library of the Philippines joins the National Museum of the Philippines and all museums and galleries in the country in celebrating the Museums and Galleries Month this October. This is in virtue of Proclamation No. 798, s. 1991 which was signed in order to arouse the national consciousness and pride in our rich culture and national identity, expressed in all media of art and culture, historical and religious artifacts.

This year’s theme “Embracing Uncertainty: Showcasing Solidarity, Hope, and Recovery” honors the resilience and resourcefulness of the Filipino in overcoming the global pandemic as it moves forward to a new normal.
