𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗯𝗮𝘆-𝗞𝗮𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗠 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺
As part of the 33rd Library and Information Services Month (LISM) celebration, members of the National Library of the Philippines LISM Committee in partnership with the Learning Resource Management Section, District of Malay, Schools Division of Aklan and Local Government Unit of Malay Municipality conducted the 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗯𝗮𝘆-𝗞𝗮𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗠 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟯 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝘂𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗮𝘆 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱.
The two-day outreach program aimed to promote the LISM activities, introduce the NLP services and provide information about the library affiliation as well as extend the Children’s Section services through a 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗴 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟰 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯.
The NLP staff headed by Maricel M. Urena, Chief of the Research and Publications Division and the Honorary Vice Chairperson of LISM; Melanie A. Ramirez, LISM Overall Chairperson; Flordeliza Quinones, Librarian IV of Reference Division and LISM Secretariat Chairperson; Rhodora Valdez, Librarian IV of Public Libraries Division/ Outreach Program Chairperson with other members of the committee made a courtesy call at 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗿. 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗼, 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗩, 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟮 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯.
On 23 November 2023, the NLP-LISM Team gave an overview of the LISM activities and discussed NLP services that could support the designated LRMS coordinators and librarians in preparing their learning resources to be utilized by students and library patrons. Present in the program are the District Coordinators, librarian, designated librarian, supply officers (division wide), public school district supervisor and school heads of Malay District, LRMDS 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗸𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗿. 𝗠𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗤. 𝗧𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗼; 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗲 𝗦. 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀; 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗿. 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗹 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝗦. 𝗕𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮, 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿.
This Outreach Program is part of the LISM objective of promoting Learning, Empowering and Strengthening the different sectors of the community through the library services.
