History Month 2022

The National Library of the Philippines joins the entire nation in celebrating History Month this August 2022. This is in virtue of Proclamation No. 339, s. 2012 which declares the month of August of every year as History Month since major events in the nation’s history occurred in the month of August which include National Heroes Day, the anniversary of the Cry of Pugadlawin and the Battle of San Juan del Monte, and the birth and death anniversaries of heroes and presidents.

The National Historical Commission of the Philippines leads the History Month celebration with the theme “Kasaysayan, Kamalayan, Kaunlaran” (History, Consciousness, Development). This year’s activities will rekindle people’s appreciation and love for our country’s rich history.
