Itโs typhoon season again. While many of us are preparing for stormy weather, the ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ป ๐ต๐ผ๐๐๐ฒ๐ in Batanes are made โ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ-๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐จ๐.โ
โThey are so strong that they can withstand extremely powerful typhoons, sometimes beyond the measurement capabilities of weathermenโs meteorological instruments.
Very few Ivatan houses have been destroyed by typhoons in recent times, and there have been significantly fewer casualties associated with these events. Over the last two generations, roughly the past 40 to 60 years, these houses have demonstrated remarkable durability, symbolizing the resilience and ingenuity of the Ivatan people in the Batanes Islands.โ
