PICTURE BOOK LAUNCHES TO PROMOTE ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS

In an effort to educate children about the importance of road safety, a new picture book has been launched, aiming to instill essential knowledge and skills among students. Titled “𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗮: 𝗔 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸,” is a project of the NLEX-SCTEX in collaboration with UNICEF, Department of Education, Department of Transportation and Department of Interior and Local Government in championing the rights of the children by ensuring a safe road and community for them. FIRE PREVENTION MONTH

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 was declared as “𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵” by virtue of Proclamation No. 115-A, s.1966 which promotes consciousness about safety and accident prevention. On the other hand, Proclamation No. 360, s.1989 proclaimed this month as “𝘽𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝” that disseminates campaigns on burn prevention and to enhance education in all phases of burn cases. Grounded on the objective of transforming culture toward a more equal and inclusive future, the 2024 NWMC bears the sub-theme, “𝙇𝙞𝙥𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙖 𝘽𝙖𝙜𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙨; 𝙆𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙣𝙜 𝙆𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙞𝙝𝙖𝙣, 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣!” It echoes the target outcomes of Chapter 15 in the Updated Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Plan 2019-2025 towards transforming gender norms and culture.
