The National Library of the Philippines welcomed the Manila City Library (MCL) yesterday, 25 August 2022, for a library tour. Headed by Ms. Mylene C. Villanueva, Officer-In-Charge, the division/section heads and librarians of MCL visited NLP for a benchmarking of its facilities and services, and also had a guided tour of the NLP Anniversary Exhibit of its Rare and Special Collections.

NLP Training on Book Binding

The National Library of the Philippines (NLP) held a Training on Book Binding yesterday, 30 August 2022, in the 3rd Floor Reading Area of the NLP Building. Headed by Ms. Susan J. Fetalco, the Filipiniana Division of NLP facilitated the event which has been participated by representatives from Universidad de Manila, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Manila City Library, and Pasay City Government. New Historical Marker to be Installed in NLP

A new NLP historical marker will be installed by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) that depicts the establishment of the National Library of the Philippines to be on August 12, 1887 as the Museo-Bibliotheca de Filipinas. This shall replace and rectify the current historical marker which states that NLP started as the American Circulating Library in 1900.
