NLP Welcomed VP Sara Duterte for the Opening Ceremony of LIS Month

The National Library of the Philippines (NLP) is honored to receive the presence of Vice-President and Department of Education Secretary, Hon. Sara Z. Duterte, as she led the Ribbon-Cutting for the Exhibit of Rare Books and Manuscripts and delivered her Keynote Speech for the Opening Ceremonies of the 32nd Library and Information Services Month celebration today, 4 November 2022, at the Epifanio de los Santos Auditorium, NLP Building. Senator Pia S. Cayetano also joined the celebration by sending a video message as the Chair of the Senate Committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Innovation, and Futures Thinking. The event was led by NLP Director Cesar Gilbert Q. Adriano and Assistant Director Edgardo B. Quiros, and was participated by Dr. Rene R. Escalante, Chairperson of the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Prof. Salvacion M. Arlante, Head of the NCCA-National Commission on Libraries and Information Services (NCLIS), and the directors, chairman, president, and representatives of various government agencies. Also in the venue are the Division Chiefs of NLP, presidents and representatives of various library organizations and LIS Alumni Associations, and BLIS students from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of the East, and Philippine Normal University.
