NBDB Ceremonial Book Donation at NLP
April 4, 2024
Over 250 award-winning books were donated to the National Library of the Philippines by the National Book Development Board (NBDB). The ceremonial book donation was held on 4 April 2024 at the NLP 2nd floor lobby.
NBDB Chairperson Dante Francis Ang II, with NBDB Director Anthony John Balisi turned over the donated books to NLP Director Cesar Gilbert Q. Adriano and Asst. Director Edgardo B. Quiros. The ceremony was witnessed by NBDB Project Officers Kaye Dean and Len Micua and Communication Officers Marzeus Alegre; representatives of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP); NLP Division Chief and Asst. Chiefs and other NLP employees.
These books are the current winning and nominated titles from the 41st National Book Awards and the 7th National Children’s Book Awards. These recognitions were given by NBDB in partnership with the Manila Critics Circle (MCC) and Philippine Board on Books for Young People (PBBY) respectively.
Throughout the program, a key emphasis was placed on the shared mission of both the NLP and NBDB: to enhance accessibility to award-winning books, fostering knowledge dissemination and promoting locally published works nationwide. By incorporating these esteemed works into the collections, NLP ensures that its patrons will benefit from and engage with these valuable resources.
