2022 Manila International Book Fair (MIBF)

In its 34th year, the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), held at the SMX Convention Center, MOA, launched its annual activities which started from September 15 up to September 18, 2022. The Collection Development Division (CDD) Chief, Ms. Melody M. Madrid, attended the first day and the MIBF Ribbon Cutting ceremonies together with other CDD staff. They toured around the exhibit area which showcased various foreign and local library materials from different publishers and suppliers. From this one whole day activity, new titles of FIlipiniana books were acquired and will be added to the NLP collection. While on this occasion, the group also met Ms. Charisse Aquino-Tugade, Executive Director III of the National Book Development Board, and other NBDB Staff.

On its second day, CDD Section Heads Ms. Lonlia R. Garcia and Ms. Ruth F. Salubre, and other CDD staff visited the book fair. This time, they were on a hunt for titles of books to be purchased for the NLP exchange program.  

The newly acquired books will soon be available to the public.
