LISM 2021 Virtual Opening Ceremonies
YOU ARE INVITED to the Virtual Opening Ceremonies of the 31st Library and Information Services (LIS) Month on 3 November 2021, at 10:00 AM, live via NLP Facebook and YouTube accounts.
Messages from His Excellency Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the President of the Republic of the Philippines, and the Chairperson of the Sustainable Development Goals, Innovation, and Future Thinking, Honorable Senator Pilar “Pia” Juliana Schramm Cayetano will be delivered during the program.
The keynote speech will be addressed by Ms. Loida Garcia-Febo, President-Elect (2021-2023) of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).
The 2021 LISM theme is “Libraries Building Roads: Readers. Opportunities. Advocacies. Development. Sustainability,” ROADS. This year’s theme focuses on capturing the essence of the libraries’ role in attaining the SDGs promulgated in the UN 2030 Agenda and integrated with our Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022.
Pursuant to Proclamation No. 837, s. 1991 the whole month of November is dedicated to celebrating Library and Information Services (LIS) Month. Together with the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts- National Committee on Libraries and Information Services (NCCA-NCLIS), relevant activities and contests are prepared for this monthlong celebration.
