145th Birth Anniversary of Pres. Manuel L. Quezon

The National Library of the Philippines joins the whole nation in commemorating the 145th Birth Anniversary of Former President Manuel L. Quezon. Born on August 19, 1878 in Baler in the district of El Principe (now Baler, Aurora), Quezon eventually became the second president of the Philippines and is regarded as the “Ama ng Wikang Pambansa”. Republic Act No. 6741 declares August 19 of each year as Quezon Day.
