𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐬 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥

The Training-Series on Delivering the Basics of Quality Public Library Service (Series 5) was recently conducted by the National Library of the Philippines (NLP), through the Public Libraries Division (PLD), and in partnership with the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental through the Misamis Oriental Provincial Library last July 25, 2023, in Mallberry Suites Business Hotel.

With a general objective of discussing with public libraries the services they are to offer based on the 2015 Revised Standards for Philippine Public Libraries (RSPPL), participants had a thorough discussion on budget preparation, partnerships, and collaborative activities.

Public librarians, public library Officers-in-Charge (OIC), and staff coming from public libraries in Misamis Oriental and nearby provinces, municipalities, cities, and barangays attended the event. Invited speakers who shared their expertise and experiences were Ms. Richel Pajara, Provincial Librarian, Mr. Clint Kenneth Yañez, Provincial Budget Officer, and Ms. Remedios Janier, Director of Library and Audio-Visual Services of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines-Cagayan de Oro Campus.

The event was graced by Hon. Gerardo “Boboy” Sabal III, Committee Chairman on Education, Culture and Arts, and Mr. Cesar Gilbert Adriano, Director IV of the National Library of the Philippines.
