Basic Preservation and Conservation of Paper-Based Collections

The National Library of the Philippines through its Public Libraries Division in collaboration with the Filipiniana Division successfully conducted a one-day training on Basic Preservation and Conservation of Paper-Based Collections on June 26, 2025 at the NLP Building in Ermita, Manila.

The one-day training-workshop was attended by PNP uniformed personnel in preparation for the development of the PNP Museum, students, and individuals interested in preserving materials with historical value. This initiative aimed to equip participants with foundational skills in safeguarding documents and collections to ensure long-term access and cultural continuity.

The training included practical workshops on Simple/Basic Stitch Book Binding, Book Enclosure Making, and Soft Bound Newspaper Binding, providing participants with essential techniques for preserving paper-based materials.
