Anyone who's spent time with children can tell you that they love to learn and work, but they also need the right mentors and environment to engage their interest, particularly during the hot and lazy summer months. The Nido Science Discovery Center (NSDC), in partnership with staff from the Children's Section of the National Library of the Philippines, provided just the right mentor/environment combination that kids needed through a workshop in storytelling and puppetry, held on April 25-26, 2013, for children between the ages of 6 and 12. The workshop aimed to keep vacationing grade schoolers active, teach them basic skills, and most importantly, help them develop confidence and the ability to communicate. The workshop was co-sponsored by Vibal Publishing House and Adarna House.
