1st International Conference on Children's Librarianship

In celebration of the 21st National Children's Month this coming October, the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) in cooperation with the Association of Librarians in the Public Sector (ALPS) will hold a 3-day conference on children's librarianship with the theme “Connecting and Linking of Information through Transformed Children's Libraries to the Digital Era” on October 13-15, 2014 in Tagaytay International Convention Center (TICC), Tagaytay City.

The Conference has the following objectives: to build a collection of digital online resources; to introduce a system for mapping accessible resources; and to provide high quality children’s services through utilization of modern technology.

In relation to and a way of fulfilling these objectives, participants will be given the opportunity to own an account for their library users to access electronic resources of the 42 eLibUSA databases. To name a few: BookFix, National Geographic Kids, Gale Virtual Reference Library, GreenFILE, A to Z Guide to eLibrary USA Journals, and Academic One File courtesy of Thomas Jefferson Information Center (TJIC), Public Affairs Section, U.S. Embassy.

The Conference fee is PhP5,000.00 for live-in participants inclusive of accommodation, am/pm snacks and lunches, kits and certificates and PhP4,500.00 for live-out participants.
