NLP 125th Anniversary Celebration

August 22, 2012 to August 24, 2012

The National Library of the Philippines will be celebrating it’s 125th anniversary on August 12, 2012.

Series of activities are lined-up for employees and the general public during the 3-day celebration scheduled on August 22-24, 2012.

August 22 (Wednesday)

NLP will be closed to the public to commemorate the event with a thanksgiving mass and a short program for the employees.

August 23 (Thursday)

NLP will issue a FREE COMMEMORATIVE ID  for the FIRST 125 RESEARCHERS of the day!

ONE-STOP SERVICE for ISBN, ISSN, ISMN and Copyright applications at the Ground Floor Lobby.

FREE tour within NLP reading room areas

Exhibit on NLP timeline with the theme "NLP at 125th : valuing the past, directing the future"

Photobooth for NLP employees, visitors and researchers at the ground floor.

 Outreach for Tondo street children (Donation box in every Division are provided for used clothings and toys to be given away to less fortunate children).

August  24 (Friday)

Salon/Round table on Numbering System in the Philippines (8:00-12:00NN)

One of the highlights of the said affair would be a half-day salon/round table discussion on trends and issues re: Numbering System in the Philippines such as the ISBN, ISSN, ISMN.

The Bibliographic Services Division will facilitate the said discussion.
