Christine Bersola-Babao graced the opening ceremonies of National Library of the Philippines' Children’s Month celebration and conducted a book reading featuring one of her written books, “Basura Monster”. Christine, one of the hosts of Kumare Klub at TV5 and www.parentTIN.tv, the first online parenting show in the Philippines is an advocate in promoting books and reading to children.
Director Antonio M. Santos shared his insights on this long month celebration in the interview of Kumare Klub at TV5 host on which he gave emphasis on the part of every one in the library and education professions in promoting love for books and reading to children with the help of different associations and organizations like Reading Association of the Philippines, Children’s Literature Association of the Philippines, Inc., Philippine Board on Books for Young People and the Book Talk Society. The opening ceremonies started with a short program and cutting of the ribbon on the children’s book exhibition led by Children's Literature Association of the Philippines (CLAPI) President Emelita C. Villanueva and Philippine Board on Books for Young People (PBBY) President, Zarah Grace C. Gagatiga who is also the guest lecturer in the program who shared her knowledge and skills on the art of storytelling .
