Eid'l Fitr

Filipino-Muslim communities celebrate today, the Eid’l Fitr, or the end of the 30-day fasting period of Ramadan. In observance of the culmination of the month-long fast, 13 May 2021 was declared a regular holiday based on Proclamation No. 1142.

Eid’l Fitr is a significant celebration of Islam and was first declared as a national holiday in November 2002 by Republic Act No. 9177 to honor the Islamic heritage of the country.
