Neriza Oraba

Neriza Oraba is a graduate of Bachelor in Library and Information Science from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and currently pursuing her Master in Library and Information Science Degree in the same university.

Before passing the Librarians Licensure Examination (LLE) in 2007, she first worked as an Information Specialist and Computer Database Librarian from 2005 to 2008 at the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW). In 2014 during the term of the late Director Antonio M. Santos, she joined the National library of the Philippines (NLP) as Librarian I detailed to head the Sentro ng Karunungan Library (SKL) in Tondo where she also served as the head of its Children’s Section from 2008-2013. She returned to the NLP in 2017 under the Collection Development Division assigned to handle the Legal Deposits and to mechanically process books for the Filipiniana Collection.

A new chapter full of new opportunities, learning experiences and challenges opened when she was chosen to be part of the 3-year INELI-ASEAN project and be one of the (5) Filipino Innovators in 2015. She was a member Team 1 or the Libranovators where she served as Secretary and then as the Team Leader during the last year of the project. Their team was composed of members from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and Vietnam who all worked hard to make their project ASEAN Children's Literature (ACL) Database/Website a reality.


Ma. Rona Celerio  Remojo

San Pablo City Library

Ma. Rona Celerio Remojo entered the City Government of San Pablo in 1998 as a Confidential Assistant of one of the City Councilors for six years. Her duties include assisting the councilor in the formulation of the proposed city ordinances and resolutions, and conducting research which regards to policies and plans in aid of legislation. In 2005, she finished her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science at Baliuag University and passed the professional licensure examination for librarians. She started to work as librarian at San Pablo City Library. Her cur-rent work focuses on engaging patrons through outreach and promotion of library services.


Marween Terry Pascual
Librarian II
San Jose City Library & Information Center

Marween became a Librarian at San Jose City Library  & Information Center on August 1, 2003 and has been in the Local Government Unit for 14 years. After years of dedicated service she now holds the position of Librarian II. Back in 2003, the library is merely providing readers’ services but so much has changed since then. She earned her Master in Library  & Information Science at Baliuag University in 2004. Her main task as Librarian is to carry – out the functional statement of the library, to provide library assistance to students, researchers, and the community. Having mentored library staff, she has passed on the baton of being a team leader to her mentee. In the past, she was the team leader in the various programs and activities of the office especially the outreach activities. She spearheaded the Arts  & Crafts and Storytelling activity in a school. She piloted the Hatid Dunong Program for PWD’s dubbed as “Special Home Study Program for PWD’s” and “Tutoring and Mentoring of Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL). She is also responsible in the administrative aspect of the library. She has attended various international and national conferences relating to library management and services. She is an innovator in the recently concluded INELI- ASEAN (International Network of Emerging Library Innovators-Association of Southeast Asian Nations). This is a three year program of the National Library of the Philippines funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She is a member of APLIN (ASEAN Public Libraries Information Network). She is an officer of the Nueva Ecija Librarians’ Association, Inc. (NELAI) and a member of Association of Librarians in the Public Sector (ALPS).


Maria Vida Aparicio
Provincial Librarian
Bohol Provincial Library

Maria Vida Cloma-Aparicio is the head librarian of the Balilihan/Bohol Congressional District Library affiliat-ed and supervised by NLP since September 2008. It was a calling for Maria Vida to serve the public through the field of Librarianship since her mother was a former provincial librarian and she grew up in a library environment. After passing the board exam for librarians in 2003, she committed herself to serve the academic institution from 2004-2007 but her heart remains to be in public service with a bigger challenge and role to supervise the congressional library in 2008.


Mariline B. Sawey
Librarian II
Benguet Provincial Library

Mariline B. Sawey has optimistic views in life looking to be involved in work where she  can utilize her skills that contributes to the growth of the organization. She is a registered  Librarian and a holder of Master of Library and Information Science and Master of Science in  Biology Certificate. With her ten year stay as Librarian she was very much adept with the  services of the library. Some of her accomplishments and tasks, which are crucial to the  operation of the library, include the maintenance of the library server and she has been an active  participant during the automation of the Library’s Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). 

Ms. Sawey is an INELI-ASEAN Innovator. As an innovator, she participated during  international conferences held in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Vietnam which have  enlightened and awaken her the importance of collaboration with other institution for the  improvement of library. 

Apart from the aforementioned library-related experience, she is a member of the  Secretariat of the Provincial Bids and Awards Committee since 2011, which have further  enhanced her interpersonal and communication skills.
