KRIS DA VINCE LARODA

Cagayan de Oro City Public Library

 

Mr. Laroda is a librarian form Cagayan de Oro City Public Library, where he works in the specialized area of serials. He holds Bachelor of Library and Information Science and Master of Library and Information Science at Lourdes College in 2015 and 2018, respectively. Before he transferred at City Public Library, Mr. Laroda was a cataloger at State University for three years. In addition to his duties and responsibilities, he is designated as a Barangay Reading Center in-charge wherein he focused on the campaign of establishing Reading Centers in the city. Thus, he also helps his colleagues in promoting reading through storytelling and portraying stories to the children. Moreover, Mr. Laroda has an interest of travel and visits, cultural heritage sites, museums, and libraries. 

 

VEE ARR P. CRUZ

Library-in-charge
Knowledge Hub Dumalinao

 

Mr. Vee Arr P. Cruz was assigned as the Library In-charge at the Dumalinao Knowledge Hub since 2018, located at the Municipal Hall, Brgy Pag-asa, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Automation and Mechatronics at Mindanao State University Iligan Institute of Technology at Iligan City. He is also designated as Local Youth Development Officer of the municipality which helps him fund the activities of the Library. The Dumalinao Knowledge Hub, with the Local Government Unit of Dumalinao, in its thrust to promote youth leaders of the community, supports a Reading Advocacy Program called Sagip Kamag-aral Project which helps students who are slow readers improve their reading speed, improve their reading comprehension, and teach them basic numeracy. Mr. Cruz, with the support of the volunteer teachers from the Department of Education, provides skills training for the volunteers of the said project and supervise the project itself.

 

 

ERWIN H. LAGUSTAN
Librarian
City of Koronadal Library

 

Mr. Erwin Historillo Lagustan or “Sir Wing”, as fondly called by his clients, is a registered and master librarian from the City of Koronadal Public Library, where he solely manages it since January 2015. He holds Bachelor of Library and Information Science from the lone university in the city, Notre Dame of Marbel University in 2010, and Master of Library and Information Science at the University of Mindanao in Davao City in 2012.

Before he transferred to the City Public Library, Mr. Lagustan was a graduate  also in Bachelor of Science in Development Communication, major in Community Broadcasting and was assigned as Media Coordinator, later Cataloger of the former said university for fifteen years. He was transferred later in July 2007 to the second floor of the said university library to help improve and maintain the College Internet Section handling free and commercial databases for student’s use.

In addition to his duties and responsibilities as the current head librarian, he  also focuses on the campaign of establishing Reading Centers in all barangays of the city as well as of the province of South Cotabato.  Mr. Largustan has always an interest of travel and visits to cultural heritage sites, museums, and other well-known libraries.

 

RICHEL IDO-PAJARA

Provincial Librarian
Misamis Oriental Provincial Library    

 

Richel I. Pajara developed her interest in librarianship when she became a student assistant in Liceo de Cagayan University. She was assigned in Grade School Library and develop here skills through her work experiences. Due to these experiences she decided to shift her course from BSED to BLIS. She received her degree in Liceo de Cagayan University with honors and received a gold medal for best practicumer award. After that, she decided to take Professional Education and became a license professional teacher major in English. In the year 2019 she graduated her Master's degree in Masters of Art in Library and Information Science from Lourdes College with her thesis entitled “Service Quality of Public Libraries as Determinant of the Satisfaction of Users’ Information Needs”.

She lost her mother when she was in third year high school and her college days were very challenging. She worked as a student assistant and at the same time, she worked in her relative and do tutorial to provide her school needs.

Now, she is currently working with the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental as the Library Head in Misamis Oriental Provincial Library. She has been working on implementing the Republic Act 7743, an act providing for the establishment of congressional, city and municipal libraries and barangay reading center throughout the province of Misamis Oriental. She is also one of the prominent Tech4ED Center Managers in partnership with Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT).

Aside from that, Ms. Pajara loves teaching and one of the library’s programs is the Summer Class Program for children that ages 3 to 5 years old. She personally teaches the children and having fun with them in every session. She believes that “Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future” –John F. Kennedy.

 

Abduljaffar L. Mamintal, RL, MPA
Librarian I    
Lanao People's Park and Public Library    

 

Mr. Mamintal is the newly appointed Head Librarian at Lanao People’s Park and Public Library of the province of Lanao del Sur. He is now working on establishing and reforming the provincial library of the province. As part of his duties, he works in reaching the community in bringing some of the library services through mobile library as one of his innovative program. With the full and active support of the Provincial government, they look forward to serve its people in all possible ways. In addition, before his appointment in provincial government, he holds the City Librarian position at Marawi City Government and being designated as Record Filer of the City Mayor. Mr. Mamintal graduated Bachelor of Library and Information Science at Mindanao State University Main Campus last April 2015 and had passed the Licensure Examination for Librarian on the following year, 2016. On the same University, he finished his Masters of Public Administration in the year 2019. Currently he is taking up his Doctoral Degree, Doctor of Public Administration at the same University. Mr. Mamintal is now looking forward to making legacy in the field of librarianship with the help of the Provincial Government and his workmates.
