She had taken her Librarian’s Licensure Examination in September 19 & 20, 2017 and fortunately passed the board exam. Her experience as a School Librarian is very challenging especially for a fresh graduate like her. But because of her eagerness and dedication towards her chosen career she continuously worked hard and paved way to serve a more challenging type of working community where she was able to serve the public with different kinds of concerns and needs. A diversified working environment and that is, a Public Library. Currently she was a Librarian I at Albay Provincial Library and Information Center under the Sangguiniang Panlalawigan of Albay and was assigned at the Gender and Development Section of the library. I am Analisa Castillejos-Telecio of Cauayan City Public Library, Cauayan City, Isabela. I was born in an Island of Cuyo, Palawan and was raised in Isabela Province. I graduated at Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Sta. Mesa, Manila on March 1998 with the degree of Bachelor in Library and Information Science (BLIS). After passing the board exam, I felt the need to help and serve my constituents so I went back to my province and practice my profession. I remember, it was during my elementary days when “librarianshipí called me. Our school library during those days were “for our eyes only”, sweeping the floor, dusting, and removing of cobwebs were the only thing we’re allowed to do on Library hour. No reading. That’s the reason I think why I took the course and challenge myself. No child should be deprived of information and the need to learn and enjoy reading.

Luckily, a position was offered and I got employed at the city government. Then, it was my second year in the service that I was forced to stand as the team leader to facilitate the celebration of National Book Week 2002 with Mr. Sancho Domenden who was the Chief of Public Libraries’ Division then as our guest speaker. Being a leader, you have to coordinate, collaborate, partner with different schools, agencies and officials for your activity to be successful. Communication, dedication and commitment are also important. Since then, I was encouraged to join and partner collaborate also with different teams, organizations, committees, taking that opportunity to contribute and share also what I have and be part of that success.

At present, I am actively advocating the love for reading. Disseminating the 10 Great Reasons to Read to the children, students, senior citizens, and also to government and non-government organizations. Conducting programs and library activities regularly within and outside the library.
