Book Spine Poetry Contest
OBJECTIVES:
The contest aims to showcase the Filipinos’ creativity by arranging book titles to make a poem; foster the love for reading and promote print collections.
MECHANICS / GUIDELINES:
I. ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to all Filipino citizens who are residing in the Philippines, except to NLP /NCCA-NCLIS Secretariat, and their relatives up to the fourth degree of consanguinity or affinity.
II. ENTRIES

Individual and group entries will be accepted. Each individual/ group is only allowed to submit one (1) entry. The first one hundred (100) interested participants will qualify for the contest.

Contestants will find print books and stack them up, artistically arranging the spine titles, to create a poem.

The poem or entry should have a minimum of five (5) book titles and a maximum of ten (10).

The book spine poem must be related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/

Take a picture of the Book Spine Poem. Photos must be clear enough to read the book spines.

The entries or photos first public showing must be at LIS 2021. The committee will post the submitted photos at the NLP official websites. It must not have been previously posted and shown to the public.

An Entry Form shall be accomplished by the participants with an attached copy of an ID and shall be submitted in PDF format. The text of the poem, book titles used and its authors are required as well.

For verification purposes, a picture of the participant with their finished entry/spine poem is also required. Non-compliance may mean disqualification.

Participants shall upload their entries in .jpeg and .png format attached with their entry forms and other requirements to the Submission Bin on or before October 15, 2021. Filenames shall be in the following format:
- Entry Form (BSPEF Last Name, First Name)

Poem Entry (BSP Last Name, First Name)

Proof of Work (BSPP Last Name, First Name)
Submission of entry constitutes permission granted to NLP to use the contestant’s name and entry for purposes of presentation, marketing and promotion without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law. All entries become property of the NLP.
CRITERIA:
The decision of the panel of judges based on the following criteria is final and irrevocable.

AWARD
There will be three (3) winners of this contest who will receive the following:
1st Prize - 15,000 + Certificate of Recognition
2nd Prize - 10,000 + Certificate of Recognition
3rd Prize - 5,000 + Certificate of Recognition
Winning entries will be posted on the NLP website and Facebook page. Winners will receive an email for notification and will be invited to attend the virtual awarding and closing ceremonies on November 30, 2021.
