In light of the celebration of the 30th Library and Information Services (LIS) Month, the NLP and NCCA-NCLIS launches the LIS Share-A-Book: Book-Based Interactive Storytelling.

The Share-A-Book Contest aims to provide an opportunity for children to develop a love for books and reading thereby enhancing their presentation and communication skills through storytelling.



The competition is open to all Filipino children ages 9 to 12 who are residing in the Philippines.


  1. The entry is solo storytelling.
  2. Entry must be a storytelling video relating to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and must be told in Filipino.
  3. Only books published by Vibal Group must be used title/s are available at
  4. The book must be featured in the video. The storyteller must mention the title, author, illustrator and publisher of the book.
  5. The story must be shortened and must not be told in a ‘word by word’ manner.
  6. The use of props, costumes, graphics and video editing applications are allowed.
  7. The video must not exceed 8 minutes and must be submitted in mp4 format with 480p resolution.
  8. The video’s first public showing must be at LIS 2020. The committee will post the submitted video at the NLP FB Page, YouTube Channel or NLP Website. It must not have been previously shown to the public.
  9. An Entry Form shall be accomplished by the participants with an attached copy of a School ID year 2019 and shall be submitted in .pdf format (Please click Annex A for the template)
  10. Entry Form, video and attached requirements shall be uploaded to on or before October 16, 2020. Filenames shall be in the following format:
    1. Entry Form (SAB Last Name First Name)
    2. Video Entry (SAB Last Name First Name)
  11. Submission of entry constitutes permission granted to NLP to use contestant’s name and entry for purposes of presentation, marketing and promotion without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law. All entries become property of the NLP.



The decision of the panel of judges based on the following criteria is final and irrevocable.





Storytelling Technique

The storytelling should have adequate voice projection, animated actions and interactions


Creativity and visual presentation

Adherence to the technical requirements and containing elements that are creatively and correctly used (i.e. text, illustrations, etc.)


Relevance to the theme

Story must be related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and entices the general audience.



Entries must be submitted by a representative until October 16, 2020 complete with the name and contact number of the Person. The judging of entries will be on October 19, 2020 – November 6, 2020 and the announcement of winners will be on November 13, 2020.


  1. There will be three (3) winners of this contest who will receive the following:
  1. 1st Prize – 15,000 + Certificate of Recognition
  2. 2nd Prize – 10,000 + Certificate of Recognition
  3. 3rd Prize – 5,000 + Certificate of Recognition
  1. Wining videos will be posted on NLP Facebook page and website and will receive an email for notification.
  2. Winners will be invited to attend the virtual Awarding and Closing ceremonies on November 30, 2020 at 1:30 in the afternoon.
